Tiger Woods does this does reach far back, but keeps his torso over his right leg, while still rotating it. As Woods starts the swing, he increases the velocity of the club head through a quick turn of his torso, and a press of his right leg some distance forward. In such a position, experts find that Woods exerts a great amount of energy, but keeps it from being wasted.
